Decadent Trail Mix

If you are looking for that perfectly addictive decadent trail mix recipe, you have come to the right spot!  This salty sweet blend will have you reaching in the bag over and over!

Decadent Trail Mix

I was never a trail mix kind of girl but when I met my future husband, he and his family always had a trail mixture sneakily hiding throughout the house.  They referred to it as GORP but no one could tell me why…I think it may be a northern thing (they are from Michigan) because another friend of mine (from Pennsylvania) knew what it was as well!  But when I pressed him for an explanation of the most ridiculous name, he could only jokingly tell me “Good Ol’ Raisins and Peanuts.”

Which is not a good descriptor of this delicious salty sweet mix!

But regardless of what you call it, this simple but indulgent trail mix is one you will find in my pantry most days.

Is it the healthiest trail mix?  No ….Is it worth the splurge? Yes!  Life is short so I’m a big proponent of eating what you love in moderation.  That’s the only way I get away with these Double Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese cookies!

Decadent Trail Mix

So in all fairness, I keep a Tablespoon measure in the bag and use it to help me have portion control!

The best part about this trail mix…aside from the way it tastes…is the basic ingredients are so simple and inexpensive!

One note: I’ve realized some people really do not like butterscotch chips…in that case replace them with peanut butter chips and you will be in Heaven!
